Narrative

Are there any narrative codes present in your video? If so what are they and how are they effective?

I believe that the way that I constructed my music video wasn't so much on trying to create a mystery behind the message that I'm trying to get across. However, it would be more like I'm trying to establish the perception of the way media texts are stereo-typically represented. Specifically focusing on the the criteria at hand which is creating awareness of bullying, essentially promoting anti-bullying and trying to offer services to people who currently are facing obstacles that are tolerated as bullying, and also just breaching out the fact that it's not an acceptable thing to do towards any human being nor animals or insects. So as for it going so far to the point of creating mystery, there is absolutely nothing mysterious about the product. Although, the topic at hand and also what is being demonstrated in the music video does leave you to think about what you just saw in the music video. Whilst, it does make you have an understanding of what you just saw there is a simple equilibrium from the very start of the music video to the very end of the music video. So as far as it going to leaving unanswered questions I believe that it does clearly give a new equilibrium.

From my perspective I believe that the way that my music video was set out was very sequential. Essentially meaning that everything correlated with each other in a manner appropriate to the media text. As I referenced early in paragraph 1 addressing the question "are there any narrative codes"? I stated that there is simply a equilibrium that the characters go through in order for them to create the new equilibrium. How do we know for fact that there is a new equilibrium and no disequilibrium? Well we can infer from the very beginning of the music video that the victim was leaking out an aura that identified her to be someone vulnerable. We can automatically judge that instantly without hesitation as we are aware that throughout the majority of the music video the victim is tragically being refined in such a disturbing manner. Including behavior such as physical and physiological abuse. Whereas, leading to the very end of the music video and what I would describe as a 'finisher move', we have the victim empower herself to stand up and tell the bullies that they need to stop immediately or otherwise the victim will bring justice to the table.

Looking at it from a semantic view point I would believe that my music video can give off different feels. In a sense of stereotyping the cast. So for instance the bully happening to be a black woman and the victim unsurprisingly being an oriental female nerd, with the stereotypical conventions of dressing modestly and being surrounded by a world full of books. We can clearly give a judgement saying that it's not unique and its pretty much conveying what a lot of media texts revolved around the topic bullying implement. However, with that stereotype as the director and artist of the music video, I wanted to make it real as possible. Reasons to why I highly wanted to represent the sense of realism is solely because I want to target my audience group with something so real and not something surreal. In the term that I don't want to create something which brings fantasy aspects because that is clearly defying the point that I'm trying to persuade, and make people understand that bullying is such a serious issue and its something so ridiculously impossible to not do.

In-fact I believe that my music video is symbolic in the term that it gives you so many different emotions. The main bully is always being criticized the most for what she's doing. That kind of goes without saying to be honest. From hosting this music video in different institutes I've always noticed the way they pick out the obvious. It's always fantastic and exciting when someone picks on the not so obviousness. It really pleases me because the key moral is that everything that all the characters do are whatnot good in the form that they could've made much more wiser decisions.

Is there a storyline? What is it its significance? How does it reflect the feel of the music or the lyrics?

Yes indeed there is a storyline. The storyline basically goes like this: you would have the victim constantly being abused by the bully in different locations. One obvious and ideal location is a school building or institution solely because its about bullying, and yes bullying happens throughout different periods of life. So I can totally understand that but a specific time and period in your life when pretty much you go through the learning stages and start to notice different characteristics, is usually the period of primary school but really widens out in secondary school. Then leading to the ending departure of the music video the victim builds up the courage to say to the bully that she needs to stop right now, otherwise things are going to get supportive for the victim. As for the song and lyrics without hesitation its supremely strong in what its trying to get across and it magnifies very detailed and specific objectives that you know a lot of people tend not to think from.
